2:54 – Sugar

2:54 released their self-titled debut album back in May, after a stream of singles, an EP and a lot of general sexiness. The London-based sisters unveiled the video for their new single, Sugar, last week.

From the dark bassline that pulsates through the whole track, to the general dingy, post-punk attitude that has come to define 2:54’s sound, Sugar is is a gloriously dark little thing. Colette Thurlow’s vocals, purring with desire, are deep and feminine and haunt the whole thing from start to finish, backed up with some crunchy guitars.

They’re doing a UK tour this autumn, starting in Nottingham in October.
