How about a bit of Australian indie/rock on this fine Sunday evening? Lavers, two brothers – Dominic and Sebastian (yeah last name Lavers…), relative unknowns could be headed for bigger and better things, having spent last year playing an intense string of live shows and recording. With what they’ve produced, it just seems almost impossible to dislike them or what they’re throwing at into your ears.
They seem to have a knack for a catchy tune, I mean I found myself making up the lyrics I’d never heard before and “singing” along. It seems like they’re radio favourites in the making, especially after producing their debut single Cosmic Ambulance, a track which sounds like it was custom built for the airwaves, imagine sitting in the back of a car on a hot sunny day with the windows down, this song turned up and heading somewhere that isn’t work.
And there’s more where that came from, their debut EP, The Street Is A Symphony, released late last year, is available to buy from their bandcamp page for the not-so-princely sum of 5 australian dollars, stream it for free here if you like:
Alternatively you can download 3 of the 5 tracks on the EP for free from Lavers’ Soundcloud page, but I’ll make it very easy for you:
These boys are definitely trying to win some friends and what better way to do that from the other side of the planet than with a few free mp3s? Recently Noel Fielding bought one of their CDs at a gig, so celebrity endorsement and a European following could well be on the cards for these rather lovely sounding boys from Canberra.
