Best Coast cover Storms by Fleetwood Mac

Best Coast appeared on both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music earlier this week, performing a cover of Fleetwood Mac’sStorms and according to DIY magazine’s website the track is more than likely to be released as a 7″ single and will be available in selected record stores.

I have loved Fleetwood Mac for years, born and raised on it you might say, unashamedly admitting a preference for anything with Stevie Nicks on it over Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, so Storms has been a favourite of mine for a very long time. I think Bethany Cosentino does a pretty good job vocally, still sounds as painful as when Stevie first sang it, just with a bit of a west coast, garage, surf pop twist, a very good, if not entirely perfect, cover I’d say. It’s not often anyone covers anything from Fleetwood Mac’s tricky third album Tusk so it’s interesting to hear a new interpretation of a classic.
