Sharon Van Etten – Serpents

This little beauty was released late last year (on my birthday coincidentally) but I only really started paying it any attention in the last week. I was a fool not to have noticed it before.

It’s been buzzing around the internet for a while and it’s been getting a bit of airtime in the build up to the release of Sharon Van Etten’s new album, Tramp, out on 6th February. This album has already been leaked on the interweb, however her 2 previous releases, Because I Was In Love (2009) and Epic (2010) are availible leagally from all the usual outlets, at least she’s not the Ting Tings (thank fuck) hounding their label to rush release their new album, because we all want it so much.

Anyway, Sharon Van Etten, another pretty insightful and thoroughly decent artist based in Brooklyn, 3 albums (if you count Tramp) and some influential friends such Aaron Dessner from The National and Kyp Malone from TV On The Radio, she’s cool. She can stay, I like her.

Here’s Epic in it’s entirety, to listen to for free, oh, and Because I Was In Love. Don’t say I never give you anything, happy Saturday.
